Cellphone honesty test: HK the lowest, Toronto the highest
Now are HK people proud, or embarrassed with this report? It doesn't seem to be directly related to the wealth of the people b/c other poor cities scored ok. Like my mum says, 'You are dumb to be honest' and 'he is dumb to believe in my acts'. That while you are expected / noble to do so in Canada. Socialism versus Capitalism. I always find the two cultures to be very conflicting cultures. It will probably score 0 out of 30 returns in Mainland China cities, and 29+ out of 30 in Ottawa, Canada.
We have a really good government you know. You should be thankful that you don't need to draw strings before eating the steak at restaurants and before choosing hospitals.

Instead of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", I see your mom ascribes to the "Do unto others BEFORE they do unto you" philosophy.

I'm surprised New York ranked so high on the list. =)
It's encouraging to see 68% of the people doing the right thing, but troubling in that 32% doing wrong is a pretty high percentage, which will probably get worse since ethics/morality aren't taught much in schools anymore.
Now you have a new catch phrase- "You can trust me, I'm Canadian!"
dunno if HK ppl would be proud or embarrassed - they might as well be indifferent... which they tend to be a lot of the time anyway! ha! =)
i'm not sure if there's really that many ppl in hong kong who would take the cell phone and claim it as their own, but i think there's very few ppl who would take it to give back to the rightful owner. most ppl would just be indifferent and ignore it, and eventually a thief picks it up.
hey M. yeah, i did all the calculations using different resources.. looks good to buy and rent out. If you have enough capital, you can totally buy a place for yourself at 20% using your RRSPs and some money saved up for a small condo.. and buy a triplex at 5% down, and let the rent cover all the costs. if you find a good location with the right numbers you will be laughing... but it is a lot of work if you don't find the right renters.
I was thinking of combining resources with my friends too. since i have some friends who have 3 units each.. they can recommend contractors to do the work or help each other doing the maintenance.
Unfortunately, finding the down payment takes a bit of work.
I have a lot of other business ideas, but i think i found one that has some good potential. I can't wait to see where it takes us!
I guess the basic question is "how do you serve more people with less work and for a better price?" and if you can do it for free, that's even better! My idea is to help other people do business and not cost them anything and yet it'll generate money for me as an outcome.
if i come up with any health or drug related ideas, i'll contact you hehehe
how do you FIND these articles?!
And why are you not a professor of sociology yet?! I keep saying that Marsh is my sociology cousin who isn't doing anything sociology-related. But yeah, that was uber interesting.
I know what you mean about asian cultures treating honesty as gullibility. Makes me sad =(
