  • Honesty comes with a price.

Lately I have this vibe of being honest, frank and transparent.  I am usually honest, but not transparent.  My cousin told me to grow a backbone and be transparent, so I did....  Maybe I have been working in socialist government for too long too.

My dad's family is here to visit in my one BR apartment for a month.  The main purpose of her mum is for my sis to learn french.  The 17 yr old tutor bailed out on me, so I am trying to find her another tutor now.  Ahh!  I also managed to talk to the little rascal about her behaviour.

I also wrote to someone about what I was thinking.  It makes so much sense, I feel really bad after writing it.  Is it wrong to be practical?  Revenons a nos moutons... mais, j'ai besoin de m'embrasser! Wuuu...

I have been stressed with human relationships lately - work and personal.

  • no...  if they are offended by what you wrote, then they don't deserve your honesty^^.

    have a good weekend!

  • I find at times we must explain ourselves more when we're being really honest and clear. Honesty and transparency are good, but some would rather not here it. When meeting people who fall into this category sometimes not talking helps .

  • One family in a one BR apt- sounds like cramped quarters!

When it comes to family, being honest/transparent may not be the best combination in all situations. I think being diplomatic/persuasive will be of more use.

  • A whole family inside a 1BR? Wow...sardines!
Human relationships....that's what life is all about...but the stress part...you just have to try to contain and make it almost non-existent.

  • Your french is pretty good, i'm sure you can tutor ta soeur, sans problemes.

  • The problem with being efficient is that it clashes with the sentimental image we have of the world.

  • There is a price tag associated to "honesty". In a world, where everyone is constantly seeking the truth and honesty...fact of the matter is...not everyone can really accept it. As cliche as it sounds, that's the truth!

The best way to get something off your chest is to tell it to someone (preferably a friend) who will not judge you on what you say because deep down, they know who you are. If you don't know anyone like that, then I would suggest writting a journal. I've been keeping a journal for the last 3 years and I write everything in it!

So what's going on at work and in your personal life that is stressing you out? Talk about it, trust me, it helps:)

  • That was in response to, "Is it wrong to be practical?"

  • Also, feel free to leave advice.

  • i thought i'd pop by and read what's up - very profound about being profound. I know what you mean about losing human touch. if one stays behind a computer too long, reduces social activities, and focuses on things other than being around people...it becomes isolating. For me it's being behind the camera..but it's only a hobby :)

  • how much french can one learn in a month?

  • Waching movies and listening to things helps me learn. I try to listen to recordings and whenever I have free time. The words eventually just get stuck in your vocabulary.

    I'm very determined to learn.

  • ryc: hope things are going well with the visit. Don't stop being honest.
